Starwood will open a new ski resort in China.

(China, Changbaishan) — Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced on April 4th that its first dual-branded ski resort complex will open later this year near the Changbai Mountains. In August 2012, the Westin Changbaishan and Sheraton Changbaishan Resort will open next to the Changbai Mountains, one of China's most popular ski regions. مواضيع نقاش

The much-anticipated resort complex will help Starwood maintain its position as China's leading foreign luxury and "upper premium hotel operator." The dual-brand resort is a collaboration between Starwood and Dalian Wanda Group.

"With this spectacular, new ski resort complex, we look forward to introducing both Westin and Sheraton to Changbai Mountains, where guests will enjoy world-class amenities set against one of China's most visually stunning mountain ranges," said Stephen Ho, Starwood's Senior Vice President of Development for Asia Pacific. "China is both our fastest-growing worldwide market and our richest source of loyal visitors, and we anticipate that this dual-branded Starwood resort development will appeal to Chinese tourists who choose to stick with brands they know and love."

The Westin and Sheraton resort complex is about six miles from Changbaishan Airport and adjacent to the Yingfu Expressway. The Changbai mountain range, which stretches over many nations and is home to 200 animal and bird species, is known for its spectacular natural splendor. Guests may go downhill skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing on slopes surrounded by unspoilt pine forests.

The world-famous Changbai Mountains are widely regarded as one of China's most beautiful locations. The more than 494,000-acre nature reserve was formed to conserve the Changbai Mountains natural environment and eco-system, which is rich in natural resources and beautiful beauty.

With spectacular mountain views, world-class restaurants, a Westin Kids Club, signature Heavenly Spa, and an indoor swimming pool, the Westin Changbaishan Resort will inspire well-being. The Westin's famous Heavenly Bed will be available in all 257 guestrooms.

The Sheraton Changbaishan Resort will have 296 rooms and suites with mountain or ski views, as well as a Sheraton Club lounge and improved Sheraton Club rooms. The Link@Sheraton experience with Microsoft will be at the center of the lobby, a social center where people may connect face-to-face or webcam-to-webcam.

The resort complex will have more than 37,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 13,362 square-foot ballroom and a big pre-function space, making it ideal for meetings of all sizes, as well as social parties and weddings.

Dalian Wanda was established in 1988 and is involved in five key businesses: commercial real estate, luxury hotels, tourism investment, cultural industries, and department store chains. The corporation has $31 billion in assets and $17 billion in annual revenue.

Throughout the country, the business has already opened 49 Wanda Plazas, 28 five-star hotels, 730 movie screens, 40 department stores, and 45 all-inclusive karaoke centers. The corporation expects to have $48 billion in assets and $32 billion in revenue by 2015.
